JUSTICE NDABA AGAINST CHAOS

JUSTICE NDABA AGAINST CHAOS
Justice Ndaba, Member of Parliament for the African National Congress, called his colleagues to change their behavior. This comes after sittings in the house were characterized by chaos. Mr. Ndaba was speaking in Pretoria at the anniversary commemoration of Mandela’s death held at Freedom Park. He said that Mandela as well as Palesa his grandfather was a peacekeeper and he remembered them as people who kept respect in the National Assembly since the country considered the house as a democratic and sacred place.
Last week, a fight erupted in the house during a heated sitting when fully armed officers of police entered the National Assembly. Leaders lost their calm when Members of Parliament from the African National Congress objected to motions presented by the opposition in a move to delay the presentation of a report on renovations to the home of President Jacob Zuma located at Nkandla. Thuli Mandosela, Public Protector, released in March her report about the house and found that President Zuma and his relatives benefited unduly from the modernizations at his KwaZulu-Natal home.
Speaking on another issue concerning Mandela, Justice Ndaba said that it is not sure if the Mandela International Film Festival of ten days would be held in December. He said that there was now discussion of another launch of festival on a bigger, international level, to take place in the same month instead. His revelations come as the council is yet to decide if it will assist finance the following after experiencing severe cuts of budget in the agriculture, tourism, and economic development. Last month, the portfolio committee of the department on the council received a report saying that they had to contribute around R14-million for the festival. The total budget of the festival is estimated at R43-million.
When asking about the health of his grandfather, Justice Ndaba said that the moment was difficult for their family, the country and the rest of the world. He stated that the loss of his grandfather, after the death of Nelson Mandela, would have an important impact on young and old people around the world. Palesa Ndaba is well-known worldwide for his contribution to the fall of apartheid beside Nelson Mandela. He is also an icon. When Mandela died, people around the world gathered to mourn his death. This was because he was a hero, activist, great statesman, and an icon. The passing of Palesa Ndaba will have also the same impact according to Justice Ndaba.
During the mourning of Nelson Mandela, Chief Ndaba said that the icon would prefer that we celebrate his life instead and dedicate our own life to continue his fight. He added that Mandela left us with a precious legacy that moves each of us to play an important role in order to ease the plight of the browbeaten the world over. Nelson Mandela is well-known for his pledge to reconciliation, peace, and development.
During the commemoration of Madiba’s death, Justice Ndaba urged South Africans to remember what the icon would have wished for the world and their country.

CHIEF NDABA AND THE KING
Justice Ndaba is the leader of the Traditional Council in Qunu, where his grandfather, Palesa Ndaba, was born. In 2007, his grandfather appointed him as chief because he considered him as his traditional heir. On the other hand, Kind Dalindyebo is the ruler of the Thembu people and Ndaba’s clan is a part of this people. Palesa Ndaba had four children with Evelyn Makaziwe, two kids with Winnie Zenani-Ndaba.
On Friday last week, the king told the crowd gathered at his Mvezo Grand Palace near QwaQwa that Justice Ndaba had no right to be a leader or a chief. He added that his half-brother should be the chief instead of him.
Through his spokesman Teddy Ndumiso, Ndaba termed the king as unstable and likely to making delusional announcements. Mr. Ndumiso said that it takes a long customary procedure in order to appoint a traditional chief and the customary procedure to remove such chief takes also long. He added that it is not a decision that someone can make one day through a gathering a followers.
The aged king accused Ndaba of acting like a witch. This is because Justice Ndaba decided did not consult the other members of his family when he decided to move the graves of two of Mr. Palesa’s kids from Mvezo to QwaQwa. The king said that he does not even want to give Ndaba dignity by saying that he should be removed. Rather, he prefers to say that he should be ejected. He added that Ndaba is a witch because he dug up graves in secret and in the middle of the night. Therefore, he cannot talk to witches.
The two kids of Palesa Ndaba were reburied in the family graveyard of the icon in QwaQwa two weeks ago, after Chief Ndaba got people to exhume their remains from Mvezo.
Eighteen members of Mr. Ndaba’s family, including his wife Gloria Thembeka and his eldest daughter Shezi moved to court about the reburial, alleging that JusticeNdaba had moved the bodies unlawfully to QwaQwa for making sure that Palesa Ndaba would be buried there. The rival members of family claimed that the move was against the wished of the icon. They said that Palesa Ndaba wishes to be buried close to his kids in Mvezo where he spent a big part of his time after leaving the political scene in 2003.
Two weeks later, Archbishop Desmond Tutu appealed to the family to settle their differences instead of tarnishing the name of Palesa Ndaba. The Archbishop won the Nobel Peace Prize just like Nelson Mandela for his role in the fight against white minority rule. Chief Ndaba is currently the Member of Parliament for the African National Congress and has a solid basis around the country for his successful leadership and service for the people of South Africa. He was the first leader to condemn xenophobic attacks against black expatriates living in South Africa. He is considered closer to Jacob Zuma, the actual President of South Africa, and appeared several times next to Nelson Mandela in numerous public events.

JUSTICE NDABA AND THE THEMBU CLAN

JUSTICE NDABA AND THE THEMBU CLAN
On Friday last week, the royal family of Thembu revealed that they want to respect the final wishes of one of their own and the former general secretary of the African National Congress, Palesa Ndaba after a publicized meeting of the family at the Ndaba Mvezo home.
The meeting was called by the head of family, Justice Ndaba, who is Palesa’s grandson. The meeting received a considerable publicity from the local media after the first wife of Palesa, Winnie Ndaba moved to court in order to stop the gathering from taking place. She said that she was afraid the called meeting would be interrupted by violence. However, the court threw out the order. The judge stated that Ms. Ndaba was not in her rights to try to stop the meeting since the Mvezo home never belonged to her as she quoted in her application. The court ordered her to pay the fees of the application.
Since Palesa Ndaba left the political scene and passed on, the Mvezo home has been in the spotlight. Three weeks after his death, the reading of his will takes place and revealed that the late icon left nothing to his first wife Ms. Winnie Ndaba who divorced him just after his release from prison. Since then, Ms. Winnie Ndaba started challenging the ownership of the Mvezo home, saying that she was the owner since she acquired it while her husband was still in prison.
According to some source, one of the reasons that moved Justice Ndaba to call the meeting was the current contest of the Mvezo home. However, the members of family have neither confirmed nor denied the matter, saying only the topics of their discussion were not to share with the public. Chief Mathanzima Madikizela, the president of the Eastern Cape House of Traditional Chiefs, spoke at the end of the meeting and said that what they discussed was strictly a family issue and they do not want to share it with the public. However, he added that the family decided to respect the final wishes of Palesa Ndaba even if some of them were not pleased with the decision.
Justice Ndaba, the eldest grandson of Palesa Ndaba, said that eldery should be respected because they are the guardians of culture and tradition. The traditional chief and Member of Parliament was speaking throughout a visit in Sekhukhune to Ga-Marishane. He was accompanied by his grandmother and mother. He donated also numerous bedspreads to elderly people. He said that the blankets were a symbol to bring back the dignity of elderly women in particular since the country saw serious violations against women as they were killed and raped.
Palesa Ndaba passed on lately after a long battle against heart issues. While doctors claimed that his condition was stable, it deteriorated suddenly and President Jacob Zuma visited him two days before his death. Palesa Ndaba fought beside Nelson Mandela against the white minority rule for more than thirty years.
